The QC Laboratory Support Technician provides essential support to a Quality Control laboratory within an animal health pharmaceutical environment. This role focuses on maintaining a clean, organized, and compliant laboratory, managing sample handling and preparation, accurately logging data, and performing general support activities that enable analysts to complete testing efficiently and in accordance with regulatory expectations.
Responsibilities
Maintain overall laboratory cleanliness and organization, including routine housekeeping and cleaning of laboratory workspaces, benches, and common areas.
Wash, dry, and properly store laboratory glassware to ensure it is readily available and prepared for analysts before testing begins.
Perform sample login activities for feed and related programs, including receiving samples from the warehouse, grinding and preparing them for analysis, and accurately entering information into Excel-based tracking systems.
Ensure all benches, equipment, and glassware are clean, organized, and prepared prior to analytical testing to support efficient QC operations.
Accurately document data and results in appropriate laboratory logbooks and electronic trackers in compliance with internal procedures and regulatory expectations.
Communicate sample status, issues, or relevant information to internal stakeholders and QC team members in a timely and clear manner.
Monitor and record temperatures of laboratory refrigerators and freezers in designated logbooks, ensuring compliance with storage requirements.
Dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures, using proper personal protective equipment.
Collect, label, and store retain samples according to established procedures to support future investigations or reference needs.
Perform additional laboratory support duties as assigned by the QC Supervisor to ensure smooth and continuous laboratory operations.
Essential Skills
Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or quality control environment, preferably within pharmaceutical, animal health, food, or feed industries.
Ability to follow written procedures, safety protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team in a regulated environment.
Familiarity with basic laboratory practices, documentation requirements, and good housekeeping standards.
Basic computer skills, including experience using Excel or similar tracking and data entry systems.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally to handle samples, supplies, and laboratory materials.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate degree or coursework in science or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in a quality environment or QC laboratory is preferred.
Comfort working in both laboratory and industrial warehouse areas.
Strong communication skills to effectively share sample status and issues with QC team members and internal stakeholders.
Motivation to support a busy and demanding laboratory environment and keep up with workload requirements.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean, open QC laboratory within an animal health pharmaceutical setting, with some duties performed in a warehouse receiving area that is more dusty and industrial in nature. The environment is very busy and demanding for analysts, so maintaining pace with the workload and ensuring glassware and workspaces are ready is critical. The position operates on a Monday through Friday schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some flexibility to adjust hours as needed to ensure the laboratory is fully supplied with clean glassware before the end of the day. Team members are not micromanaged and are trusted to work at a steady, self-directed pace while adhering to safety protocols, using appropriate personal protective equipment, and supporting a collaborative, growth-oriented culture. The opportunity is contract-to-hire and includes billable paid time off and paid holidays.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
