Job Title: 1st Shift Quality Inspector

Monday to Thursday 6am to 4:30pm
Job Description
The 1st Shift Quality Inspector ensures that manufactured products consistently meet established quality standards and customer requirements. This role conducts detailed inspections and audits, analyzes data to identify trends, and collaborates closely with engineering, development, and operations teams to maintain robust quality processes throughout the product lifecycle. The position also manages Material Review Board (MRB) activities, reviews equipment calibration and maintenance records, and communicates quality findings clearly to stakeholders across the organization.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough audits and inspections of products and processes to identify, document, and address quality issues.
Perform detailed quality checks on finished products using appropriate inspection methods and precision measuring tools.
Manage Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, including reviewing nonconforming materials, determining disposition, and ensuring timely follow-up actions.
Review equipment calibration, validation, and maintenance records to confirm they are completed correctly and on schedule.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, development, and operations, to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
Communicate quality issues, nonconformities, and inspection findings clearly and promptly to production personnel, quality management, and other stakeholders.
Participate in meetings and presentations to share quality-related information, updates, and improvement initiatives.
Apply quality assurance and quality control tools and techniques to maintain and improve processes and product quality.
Analyze inspection and production data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for quality improvement.
Maintain clear, accurate, and organized records of inspection results, audits, and quality documentation.
Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to verify that products meet required standards.
Support proactive quality assurance practices aimed at preventing defects by monitoring and influencing the overall production process.
Ensure adherence to applicable industry quality standards and regulations during inspection and quality control activities.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of quality inspection within manufacturing processes.
Extensive experience in quality control, including identifying and correcting defects in finished products through inspections and testing.
Strong experience in quality assurance, focusing on proactive processes that prevent defects across the production lifecycle.
Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Excellent visual acuity and the ability to detect minor defects and deviations from specifications.
Familiarity with industry quality standards and regulations relevant to manufacturing.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
Ability to interpret data and identify trends to support quality improvement initiatives.
Clear and accurate record-keeping skills for documenting inspection results and quality findings.
Effective communication skills for interacting with production personnel, quality management, and other stakeholders.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills to influence and support quality-focused behaviors on the shop floor.

Work Environment
This position is on the 2nd shift, working Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. with a 10% shift differential. Initial training takes place on the first shift. There is currently mandatory overtime on Fridays to meet production deadlines. Work is performed in an air-conditioned manufacturing facility that incorporates modern, industry 4.0 technologies. The role requires the ability to lift and move up to 35 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, or climb portable ladders. Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination are necessary to handle tools, components, and measuring equipment effectively. Use of personal protective equipment is required in accordance with safety and quality procedures.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
