Job Title: Electrical Journeyman
Job Description
The Electrical Foreman oversees electrical work across two nearby manufacturing sites, ensuring all products and installations meet electrical codes, safety standards, and quality expectations. This hands-on role combines leadership, inspection, and troubleshooting responsibilities, with a strong focus on safe, compliant, and reliable electrical systems in a growing manufacturing environment. The position operates on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Responsibilities
Oversee and coordinate electrical work across two manufacturing sites, ensuring safe, high-quality, and code-compliant installations.
Perform hands-on electrical tasks, including running conduit, wiring, and lighting for systems ranging from 24V DC to 480V.
Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics to install, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and systems.
Inspect in-process electrical work to verify proper installation, safety, and adherence to specifications and standards.
Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, and relevant UL standards where applicable.
Manage and delegate tasks to electrical team members, monitoring progress and ensuring quality and productivity goals are met.
Use test equipment such as volt meters and torque wrenches to verify proper operation, torque settings, and electrical performance.
Apply a strong understanding of transformers, fusing, ice cube relays, and other common electrical control components in daily work.
Support electrical work around generators, generator enclosures, and various @types of switchgear as needed.
Assist with PLC wiring and network communication cabling when required to support control and automation systems.
Use a Windows-based computer to navigate software, manage files, and interface with digital equipment and machine controllers.
Follow and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and emergency practices, including proper use of PPE and cover-up at each jobsite.
Position yourself at varying heights or low to the ground to inspect work, perform installations, and access equipment.
Assist in moving materials and equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds as needed to support project activities.
Work in and around electrical testing areas and other industrial processes while maintaining a strong safety mindset.
Collaborate with other departments and trades to coordinate work, resolve issues, and support efficient manufacturing operations.
Adapt to evolving responsibilities as this new role develops with the growth and expansion of the company.
Essential Skills
Proficient understanding of AC and DC electrical theory.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical codes, including a strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
Licensed Electrician or highly trained in NEC code and NFPA 70E.
Ability to run conduit, wiring, and lighting for electrical systems from 24V DC to 480V.
Understanding of transformers, fusing, ice cube relays, and other common electrical control components.
Ability to properly operate test equipment, including but not limited to volt meters and torque wrenches.
Basic understanding of Windows operating systems to navigate software and handle file management.
Commercial or industrial electrician experience.
Supervisory experience managing and delegating work while ensuring quality.
Ability to learn, understand, and comply with safety procedures and emergency practices.
Ability to inspect in-process work at varying heights or low to the ground.
Ability to assist in moving materials and equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds.
Manual dexterity to operate digital equipment, including computers and machine controllers.
Comfort working around electrical testing and other industrial processes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with electrical work around generators and generator enclosures.
Familiarity with various switchgear @types.
Experience with PLC wiring and network communication cabling.
Knowledge of UL standards such as UL 891, UL 508A, or UL 1558.
Strong commitment to using appropriate PPE and ensuring proper installation of cover-up at each jobsite.
Experience industrial or construction electrical environments.
Experience with inspection and quality-focused electrical work in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment
The role is based in a manufacturing environment that supports work for data centers, with responsibilities split between two sites located close to each other. You will work on a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The setting involves exposure to electrical testing areas and industrial processes, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE and adherence to safety procedures. Work may require positioning at varying heights or close to the ground, as well as handling materials and equipment of moderate weight. You will regularly use test instruments, hand tools, and digital equipment, including computers and machine controllers, within a professional, production-focused environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delanco, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $60.00/hr.
