?Job Description
This role oversees end-to-end supply chain initiatives for assigned products, working closely with sourcing, planning, product, and engineering teams to balance commercial and technical trade-offs. You will drive sustained operational excellence, cost optimization, and supply chain resilience across global hardware and electromechanical commodities. This position offers a ground-floor opportunity to help build a new supply chain organization at significant scale across robotics and automation, with single-threaded ownership of product supply chain strategy and frequent visibility to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
Work cross-functionally with sourcing, planning, logistics, engineering, finance, and product teams to identify and drive sustained operational improvements in cost, lead time, and risk management.
Act as the single point of contact for assigned programs, clearly communicating supply chain decisions, progress, and risks to stakeholders and providing feedback on supply chain implications of program decisions and changes.
Synthesize inputs from sourcing, planning, logistics, engineering, and finance to create balanced recommendations that support operational excellence, cost reduction targets, and supply chain resilience.
Develop and execute cost reduction roadmaps that measure total cost of ownership, including spares, service, replacements, tariffs, and logistics impacts.
Own lead time optimization analysis for assigned products and commodities, define clear reduction roadmaps, and provide transparent reporting on progress and outcomes.
Maintain ownership of supply chain requirements throughout the full product lifecycle, including General Availability (GA) and end-of-life phases.
Coordinate cross-functional implementation of post-launch design changes (ECOs), ensuring supply continuity, cost control, and minimal disruption to operations.
Drive root cause analysis for supply chain issues and implement process improvements that prevent recurrence and strengthen long-term operational performance.
Lead or support strategic sourcing and commodity management initiatives, including supplier negotiations, cost reduction programs, and second-source qualifications across electromechanical commodities.
Partner with planning teams to drive lead time reduction, scenario planning, clear-to-build and shortage resolution, and capacity alignment with demand forecasts.
Use data analytics and reporting to synthesize information from multiple sources-such as cost, supplier readiness, quality, and lead time-into actionable insights and consolidated performance reporting.
Manage supplier relationship performance tracking, ensuring suppliers meet expectations on cost, quality, delivery, and risk mitigation.
Contribute to and apply Product Development Process (PDP) frameworks to ensure supply chain readiness across NPI and sustained operations.
Exercise a high degree of autonomy in day-to-day decision-making, while using sound judgment to determine when to escalate issues versus resolve them independently.
Align work with key performance indicators, including cost savings pipelined and achieved, lead time reduction, and material on-time delivery.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or product operations management in electromechanical commodities.
Demonstrated experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder supply chain initiatives in sustained operations environments.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data from multiple sources into actionable insights and clear recommendations.
Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority in a matrixed environment.
Experience with supplier relationship management and performance tracking.
Knowledge of global hardware and electromechanical supply chains.
Exposure to strategic sourcing and commodity management, including participation in sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, cost reduction roadmaps, and second-source qualifications.
Ability to drive supply chain planning and lead time optimization, including scenario planning, shortage resolution, and capacity alignment with demand forecasts.
Strong data analytics and reporting skills for consolidating performance metrics across cost, quality, lead time, and supplier readiness.
Strong presentation and executive communication skills.
High degree of ownership and a bias for action in driving initiatives to completion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in robotics, electromechanical systems, or other technology-intensive industries.
Background in both New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustained operations supply chain management.
5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or product operations management with direct responsibility for multiple commodities such as electromechanical components, metals, plastics, and integrated circuits.
Advanced degree such as an MBA or a master's in Supply Chain Management or Engineering.
Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
Experience with PLM tools such as Agile.
Demonstrated success in cost reduction and lead time optimization initiatives.
Experience with scenario planning and risk mitigation in complex, global supply chains.
Knowledge of tariff management and trade compliance.
Experience working within Product Development Process (PDP) frameworks.
Comfort operating with a high degree of autonomy, including clear judgment on when to escalate issues versus resolving them independently.
Work Environment
This is a fully onsite role based in a robotics and automation-focused environment, supporting a large portfolio of product lines across hardware, electromechanical systems, and industrial automation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sourcing, planning, engineering, logistics, finance, and product management in a culture that values ownership, bias for action, data-driven decision-making, and process standardization over reactive firefighting. The work involves regular use of enterprise systems such as ERP (e.g., Oracle, SAP) and PLM tools (e.g., Agile), as well as AI-powered analytics and reporting platforms to support strategic and operational decisions. The environment offers daily visibility to senior leadership, opportunities to lead multi-million-dollar savings initiatives, and exposure to advanced robotics and automation technologies.
