As a Food Safety Supervisor at our Arbuckle, CA milling facility, you'll play a hands-on leadership role in maintaining the standards that keep our products safe, our operations compliant, and our people accountable to one another.
This position reports to the Regional Quality and Plant Manager.
Position Responsibilities
Provide day-to-day quality and food safety leadership across the facility, serving as the primary resource for compliance and continuous improvement
Support facility systems including ADM Weigh, APecS, Sphera, PolicyTech, and TLC
Support and coordinate regulatory and third-party audits, including FDA, BRC, Organic, Gluten Free, and customer audits, and complete associated annual compliance tasks
Partner with ADM's Quality Center of Excellence and Food Safety teams to drive compliance and improvement initiatives
Develop and implement quality and food safety requirements for human food and animal food applications, where applicable
Monitor the quality and safety of incoming ingredients and finished products
Manage prerequisite programs that support the Quality Management System
Oversee non-conformance investigations, ensuring root cause analysis is completed and documented
Lead Cost of Poor Quality oversight and implementation
Support Food Defense Vulnerability Assessment activities under Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Intentional Adulteration requirements
Assist with Internal Risk Management (IRM) score improvements
Manage the Quality Control team, ensuring analytical programs provide accurate, timely support to operations and customers
Lead facility-wide food safety culture through training, employee development, and consistent communication of standards
Oversee third-party pest control contractors and maintain working knowledge of fumigation processes for bins and warehouse areas
Apply knowledge of United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) grading methods as needed
Role Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or at least seven years of equivalent food safety experience
Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification
A California Department of Pesticide Regulation (CA DPR) Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) in Categories A and M, or willingness to obtain
Working knowledge of document management systems (such as PolicyTech), spreadsheets, and databases
Familiarity with applicable food safety regulations and requirements
Strong communication skills - you're comfortable working across all levels of an organization
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
Organized, with solid time management and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment
Ability to evaluate information and data to make sound decisions
Working Conditions
This role works in an active milling facility. You may be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, heights, dusty environments, and potential chemical and food allergens as part of normal operations. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.
If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
The pay range for this position is expected to be between:

$70,400.00 - $131,300.00
