Job Title: 2nd Shift Order Puller (Cherry Picker)
Job Description
The 2nd Shift Order Puller (Cherry Picker) works in a clean, organized distribution warehouse, pulling, packing, and preparing customer orders for shipment. This role involves operating material handling equipment, including forklifts and electric order pickers/high-reach trucks, and requires comfort working at heights. The position plays a key part in ensuring accurate, timely, and safe movement of products throughout the warehouse.
Responsibilities
Pull and assemble customer orders accurately using a push cart, forklift, or electric order picker/high-reach equipment.
Pack orders securely into appropriate containers, ensuring items are protected and organized for shipment.
Load and unload trucks and company vehicles in a safe and efficient manner.
Assemble customer orders to be shipped via parcel carriers such as UPS and via LTL (less-than-truckload) carriers.
Process paperwork related to shipments, including verifying that merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying correct postage or shipping labels, and completing accurate bill of lading (BOL) information for LTL shipments.
Follow customer-specific shipping instructions and arrange shipment insurance when necessary.
Verify assembled orders for correct quantities and item descriptions before packing and shipping.
Arrange packed containers onto shelves or staging areas according to designated truck routes.
Confirm quantities and items being shipped against invoices and other shipping documentation.
Use an RF scanner within the warehouse management system to pick orders, perform put-away of materials after receipt, and maintain accurate inventory records.
Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including checking in incoming materials and organizing outgoing shipments.
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Support inventory control activities by helping to maintain accurate stock levels and proper product placement.
Substitute for other warehouse personnel as needed to support overall warehouse operations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
Essential Skills
Proven forklift experience, preferably with order picker or high-reach equipment.
Ability to work comfortably at heights while operating an electric order picker/high-reach truck.
Experience in order pulling, packing, and general warehouse operations.
Ability to use RF scanners for picking, put-away, and inventory-related tasks.
Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes, including working with UPS and LTL shipments.
Ability to verify quantities and product descriptions accurately and pay close attention to detail.
Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and following written and verbal instructions.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for quantities, counts, and simple measurements.
High school diploma or GED.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating pallet jacks and other common warehouse material handling equipment.
Background in inventory control, including counting, tracking, and organizing stock.
General knowledge of electrical products is a plus but not required.
Prior experience in a large distribution warehouse environment.
Comfort working with a warehouse management system and RF scanning technology.
Ability to adapt and assist in different warehouse roles when needed, supporting a team-oriented environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a large, very clean distribution warehouse that supports industrial, commercial, and residential electrical supply distribution. The 2nd shift runs from 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., with regular opportunities for 1-2 hours of overtime after the scheduled shift. The warehouse operates multiple shifts with a relatively small number of people per shift, creating a focused and efficient work setting (approximately 20 team members on 1st shift, 20 on 2nd shift, and 5 on 3rd shift). You will work with forklifts, electric order pickers/high-reach trucks, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and a warehouse management system. The environment emphasizes cleanliness, organization, and safety, with sufficient space to move and operate equipment effectively.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
