The Role

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 0 years of relevant exempt experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.

Nice to Have

BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS I.E. MICROSOFT OFFICE, SUITE. THEY SHOULD POSSESS THE ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY & HAVE GOOD TECHINICAL WRITING SKILLS. A WILLINGNESS TO LEARN & WORK IN A TEAM ENVIRONMENT, THE ABILITY TO PERFORM DESIGN RELATED MATH FUNCTIONS & THE ABILITY TO READ & INTERPRET WRITING INSTRUCTIONS & DRAWINGS. BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF NETWORK & CONTROL SYSTEMS PREFERRED. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS: EMPLOYEE WILL NEED TO BE CAPABLE OF ACCESSING SHIPS UNDERGOING OVERHAULS & UNDER CONSTRUCTION (I.E. CLIMBING LADDERS, BENDING, ETC.).
