Role Overview:
The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles is seeking qualified candidates to fill a Quality Assurance Specialist position. The Quality Assurance Specialist is part of the Bureau's motorcycle safety program, Ride Safe Indiana. This position will conduct compliance checks over a variety of motorcycle rider classes throughout the state and will be responsible for compiling and reporting findings of the audit.
Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $47,320 but may be commensurate with training and experience.

A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
Monitor and evaluate motorcycle training at various training sites throughout the state.
Assist in scheduling visits to provider locations to ensure providers are in compliance with contract policies and procedures as well as curriculum standards. Prepares reports with the site visit results.
Establish and maintain professional relationships with motorcycle training and skills testing providers.
Active participant in motorcycle outreach programs.
Promote motorcycle safety training program when applicable.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours that may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
Credentials:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must currently be a recognized motorcycle safety RiderCoach or Instructor.
Preferred skills:
Subject matter expert in Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI) approved curriculums.
Possess or obtain Motorcycle Skills Test Examiner Certification within six months of employment.
Knowledge of motorcycle safety procedures and Indiana motorcycle laws.
Excellent reporting skills.
Some knowledge and skills needed to perform basic repairs and maintenance on program equipment.
Additional qualifications:
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
Demonstrates ability to deal effectively with conflict resolution.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail.
Reliable transportation.
Available to work weekend and evening hours during motorcycle season (March through October).
Ability to multitask.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
A degree is not a standard requirement for this role. However, at least 5+ years of experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered. Some positions may include specific education requirements depending on the program scope.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
