Job Title: Lean Manufacturing Manager
Job Description
The Lean Manufacturing Manager drives the deployment, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the plant's Lean Manufacturing system. Working without direct reports, this role influences through coaching, facilitation, and collaboration across value streams and support functions. The position partners closely with operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, and HR to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost, and employee engagement by embedding Lean principles into daily work, leadership routines, and problem-solving behaviors.
Responsibilities
Lead the deployment and ongoing refinement of the plant's Lean Manufacturing system across all value streams.
Coach and influence cross-functional teams in operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, and HR to adopt and sustain Lean practices.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and engagement.
Embed Lean principles into daily work processes, leadership routines, and structured problem-solving activities.
Plan, organize, and lead kaizen events and other process improvement workshops.
Support the implementation of Lean tools and methods in final assembly and other manufacturing processes.
Drive Lean implementation projects in a high-precision or automotive/appliance manufacturing environment.
Lead change initiatives without direct authority by building alignment, credibility, and engagement at all levels of the organization.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify waste, optimize flow, and improve overall equipment and process performance.
Apply Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies to analyze data, reduce variation, and improve process capability.
Ensure that process improvements align with safety, ergonomic, and quality system requirements, including ISO and IATF standards.
Use ERP/MES and data visualization tools to monitor performance, identify trends, and prioritize improvement opportunities.
Develop and deliver training, coaching, and guidance to build Lean capabilities across the plant.
Track, report, and communicate progress on Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to stakeholders.
Essential Skills
Master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in a Lean or high-precision environment.
Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in production, engineering, and quality.
Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, tools, and systems.
Demonstrated experience leading change and influencing outcomes without direct authority.
Hands-on experience with continuous improvement, process improvement, and kaizen activities.
Experience in automotive manufacturing or appliance manufacturing, including final assembly processes.
Knowledge of safety, ergonomic, and quality system requirements, including ISO and IATF standards.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Experience using ERP or MES systems to support manufacturing and process improvement.
Ability to use data visualization tools, with Power BI preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Black Belt, Green Belt, Six Sigma, or Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience.
Experience in process engineering within a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops and coach teams at multiple organizational levels.
Strong leadership capabilities with a collaborative and influence-based approach.
Experience implementing Lean in automotive manufacturing or similar high-precision industries.
Work Environment
The role is based in a brand-new manufacturing plant located in Tallahassee. The facility operates with modern manufacturing systems, including ERP/MES platforms and data visualization tools such as Power BI. The environment is designed to support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement, with close collaboration between operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, EHS, and HR. Work takes place on a production site where safety, ergonomics, and adherence to ISO and IATF quality standards are central to daily operation

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
