Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Manassas VA 20109

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (Onsite)

Pay Rate: USD $45.00/hr

Contract: 6 Months contract - Temp to Hire

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting; MBA or CPA preferred

5-7+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Experience with ERP systems; Sage experience is a plus

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information

Team-oriented with strong communication skills

Responsibilities:

Support day-to-day activities of the Finance Department

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities

Manage journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications

Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations

Analyze variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods

Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies

Manage fixed assets, depreciation, revenue recognition, and intercompany transactions

Assist with preparation of financial statements and management reports

Support external reporting requirements and audit processes

Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests

Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting processes

Identify process improvements and support automation initiatives

Document accounting procedures and workflows

Provide accounting guidance to cross-functional teams

Review work of junior accountants and provide training and support
