Ability to remain calm, organized, and responsive when addressing time-sensitive production issues in a continuous manufacturing process.
Work Environment
This role is based in a world-class manufacturing facility producing high-performance glass for major automotive OEMs. The plant operates 24/7 using float glass manufacturing processes, where downtime is extremely costly and engineers are expected to be present, engaged, and responsive to real-time issues on the floor. You will work as part of a small, collaborative team consisting of two engineers and one engineering technician, with a strong culture of long-term tenure and low turnover. The facility includes both a cold side and a hot side, and you must be willing to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times throughout the plant. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with participation in an on-call rotation between engineers; call-ins typically occur infrequently, approximately once every two to three months. While on contract, you will receive three weeks of paid time off and eleven paid holidays. The work environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and offers the opportunity to work directly with advanced automation, robotics, and PLC-based control systems in a high-impact production setting.
