Job Title: Finance Operations Analyst
Job Description
The Finance Operations Analyst serves as a hands-on, cross-functional operations and finance partner supporting Finance and other G&A leaders during a period of growth and increasing operational complexity. In this role, you support critical day-to-day finance processes, contribute to audit and compliance readiness, and help drive systems and process improvements that enable scale. You work closely with teams across Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Facilities, gaining regular exposure to executive leadership and broad visibility across the organization. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, manages multiple priorities independently, and enjoys identifying inefficiencies and implementing practical solutions.
Responsibilities
Support accounts payable processes, including vendor setup and maintenance, payment documentation, vendor inquiries, and related reporting.
Assist with expense reporting and transaction processing across multiple systems, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
Prepare and support accruals and reconciliations as part of routine financial operations.
Perform month-end close tasks in partnership with the Senior Accountant and the broader finance team.
Ensure executive expense reports comply with company policies and are documented and processed in a timely manner.
Participate in budgeting and reforecasting activities, including performing essential data analysis to support decision-making.
Support public company and SOX audit and quarterly review readiness activities.
Assist with documentation of processes and controls, and respond to audit-related data and information requests.
Coordinate vendor data migration to new payment processing and expense management platforms.
Support the organization's use of technology and AI tools, including helping identify risks related to over-reliance or improper usage.
Partner with IT leadership on key end-user support initiatives and system adoption efforts to improve efficiency and user experience.
Support HR and onboarding processes during periods of growth, helping ensure a smooth experience for new team members.
File and manage executed contracts in the legal document management system to maintain accurate and accessible records.
Provide light facilities and in-office operational support to foster collaboration and enhance team effectiveness.
Engage regularly with stakeholders across Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Facilities to align on priorities and support cross-functional initiatives.
Learn and engage with the company's broader strategic goals, including gaining exposure to the R&D, preclinical, and clinical-stage biotechnology environment.
Pursue opportunities to specialize more deeply in selected functions over time based on your interests and evolving business needs.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience supporting finance or operational processes in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently while meeting deadlines.
High attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
Comfort working across functions and communicating effectively with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
Practical experience with accruals, expense reports, reconciliations, and financial operations.
Ability to perform data analysis and financial analysis to support reporting, budgeting, and reforecasting activities.
Strong sense of ownership and a hands-on approach to operational and finance tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience supporting audits, SOX compliance, or public company readiness initiatives.
Exposure to expense management systems or ERP platforms.
Background working in high-growth, biotechnology, life sciences, or technology environments.
Interest in process improvement, systems optimization, and analytics to drive operational efficiency.
Comfort using modern technology and AI tools in a finance and operations @context.
Ability to identify inefficiencies in processes and contribute to implementing practical, scalable solutions.
Work Environment
You work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment that values cross-functional collaboration and operational excellence. The role is primarily office-based with at least one day per week on-site, providing opportunities to support in-office operations and foster team collaboration. You regularly interact with colleagues in Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Facilities and gain exposure to an R&D and clinical-stage biotechnology setting. The environment emphasizes the use of technology, including expense management platforms, ERP systems, and AI tools, to streamline processes and support scale. You are expected to maintain a professional appearance appropriate for an office setting while contributing to a culture that encourages learning, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
