Description

Job Purpose: - The Yard Truck Driver at PRINSCO is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of yard trucks to transport materials and equipment within the company premises. This role ensures timely and accurate delivery of goods to support the smooth functioning of warehouse operations and contributes to maintaining an organized and productive yard environment. Key Responsibilities: - Operate yard trucks to move trailers and containers to and from loading docks, staging areas, and storage locations within the facility. - Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition and report any maintenance or repair needs. - Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate the movement of goods and ensure accurate placement and retrieval of trailers and containers. - Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly and pathways are clear of obstructions. - Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. - Assist with loading and unloading of materials as needed, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods. - Keep accurate records of trailer and container movements, including arrival and departure times, to support inventory management and tracking. - Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any issues or concerns related to yard operations. - Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge related to yard truck operations and safety procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education: - High school diploma or equivalent Required Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in truck driving or a similar role - Proven experience operating yard trucks or similar heavy equipment Required Skills and Abilities: - Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record - Strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures in a yard environment - Ability to maneuver trucks in tight spaces and handle various @types of trailers - Proficient in basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting - Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with team members and supervisors - Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation
