Summary You will serve as a ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANIC LEADER in the Crane Maintenance Division (Code 730) of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will be responsible for reporting work status, work progress, and work delays to the supervisor. You will oversee work in progress to ensure proper methods are being followed. You will lead ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANICS (WG-11), INTERMEDIATE ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANICS (WG-08), and ELECTRONIC INDUSTRIAL CONTROLS MECHANICS HELPER (WG-05). You will provide input to to supervisor regarding performance appraisal. You will resolve work related problems and take necessary corrective action to overcome delays, bottlenecks and equipment downtime. You will inspect work-in-progress and upon completion to ensure efficiency, economy, and safety of operations. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE, performing duties such as: Performing diagnostic troubleshooting techniques to isolate faults using a wide variety of sophisticated test equipment. Estimating and requisitioning tools, materials, and equipment to complete the required project. Performing daily inspections of work sites and ensuring all safety and housekeeping rules. Planning the sequence of operations and work for groups of employees. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical wiring diagrams, electronic schematics, computer logic circuits, technical procedures, and data from technical manuals.
