Summary You will serve as an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic Leader (Expert) in Pipe Shop, Production Resources Department, PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will serve as an Expert Air Conditioning Equipment (ACE) Mechanic performing maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, installation, modification, and testing of new and existing shipboard refrigeration systems and components. You will work in accordance with developed technical direction including blueprints and sketches to plan and layout the routing and placement of various system components and equipment. You will exercise leadership skills to mentor, demonstrate new techniques and instruct ACE employees in a wide range of complex repairs and troubleshooting of refrigeration equipment. You will work to continuously to improve trade processes and keep shop personnel and management apprised of new technologies, procedures and tooling improvements associated with shop work.
