A Charleston medical office is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant for their fast-paced office. If you have the skills and are ready to work in a dynamic environment, apply now! Responsibilities: A Medical Administrative Assistant for this position meets with a patient before their scheduled appointment to take the patient's history concerning their general health and the health of their eyes. The Medical Administrative Assistant also usually asks patients if they have particular concerns they want to address with the Ophthalmologist and if they have a preference for glasses or contacts (if needed). The Medical Administrative Assistant must also be able to record the information obtained during the patient encounter in the patient's chart accurately. Additionally, duties may include answering phones, scheduling patient's appointments, accepting payments, and contacting insurance companies. Medical Administrative Assistants usually are also responsible for the maintenance of the office and office equipment, which includes maintaining an adequate level of necessary stock. Qualifications: A High School Diploma is required Follow HIPAA policies and procedures Maintain confidentiality of all patient information at all times Maintains proper attendance and punctuality Display consistent professionalism This is an evaluation to hire position Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Pay rate starts at $16.00/hour.
