Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description

The Project Engineer will independently manage facility and process-related projects from inception to completion. This role involves scoping and defining project requirements, developing engineering documentation and project paperwork, creating design drawings, issuing work to contractors, overseeing construction and installation, and managing project closeout. Projects typically have a budget of $200K or more, with multiple projects running concurrently.

Create design drawings.

Issue work to contractors.

Oversee construction and installation.

Manage project closeout.

Essential Skills

Project engineering

Proficiency in SolidWorks

Project management

Mechanical engineering

Strong background in facilities or plant engineering

Proven ability to run projects independently

Ability to perform design work

Experience managing contractors and creating purchase orders

Comfortable working in environments with internal bureaucracy and slower approval cycles

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Industry flexibility - Food experience preferred but not required

background in consumer goods or transferable industries

Highly organized and detail-oriented

Patient and able to navigate a less agile company structure

Strong communication skills

Reliability and strong work ethic

Ability to think through all aspects of a project

Work Environment

This is a full-time role with standard working hours from 7 AM to 4 PM, though flexibility is required as needed. The facility operates 24/7, necessitating an on-site presence. The organization has a streamlined structure, offering direct access to leadership and significant exposure.

This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
