Position Summary

The Staff Accountant plays a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate brings a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multi-company environment.

Key Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare and post month-end and year-end journal entries for multiple companies

Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other general ledger accounts

Analyze general ledger account activity and investigate variances as needed

Assist with review and approval of employee expense reports

Support oversight and administration of company credit card programs

Participate in special projects and ad hoc accounting initiatives as assigned

Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company accounting policies and standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and standards

Experience applying business standards, internal controls, and best practices

Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects across several entities

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Sound ethical judgment and high degree of professionalism

Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel required), Adobe Acrobat, and other accounting-related technology tools

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, management, vendors, and external partners

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Demonstrated initiative, adaptability, and continuous improvement mindset

Team-oriented with emerging leadership capabilities

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time as required for office work
