We are looking for a customer-focused Bank Teller to support branch operations and deliver a high standard of service in Modesto, California. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing transaction processing, account support, and relationship-based service in a fast-paced banking environment. The role requires a strong understanding of deposit products, day-to-day branch activities, and the ability to guide customers toward solutions that align with their financial needs.

Responsibilities:

Manage daily branch readiness by handling opening and closing procedures and helping maintain smooth in-person operations.

Support customers with establishing a variety of new accounts while ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.

Process routine and complex teller activities such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, wires, cashier's checks, stop payments, cash orders, and shipment coordination.

Assist clients with service questions, account concerns, and issue resolution by researching problems and providing clear follow-up.

Explain account features, applicable fees, rate information, and usage limitations so customers can make informed decisions.

Recommend banking products and services based on each customer's situation, with a focus on meaningful cross-selling and relationship growth.

Complete operational tasks including branch capture, certifications, transaction approvals within assigned authority, and scheduled report reviews.

Generate required branch and bank reporting and help ensure daily, weekly, and monthly controls are completed accurately and on time.

Provide guidance to teammates developing into Bank Teller roles and remain available to work from different branch locations as business needs require.

Follow banking policies, audit standards, and regulatory requirements in all customer and operational activities.

Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in banking, branch operations, or a closely related financial services role.

Working knowledge of deposit accounts, teller transactions, and day-to-day branch service procedures.

Ability to deliver strong customer service while handling high-volume transaction activity with accuracy.

Experience communicating banking products and identifying services that match customer needs.

Comfortable resolving account-related questions, researching discrepancies, and managing sensitive client interactions professionally.

Flexibility to work on site and provide support at multiple branch locations when requested.

Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to approve or escalate transactions within established guidelines.
