DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Legal Assistant 2, you will provide vital assistance and support to PennDOT Office of Chief Counsel attorneys and legal analysts within the King of Prussia (KOP) Regional Office . Your organizational skills will be used to advise attorneys of important due dates, upcoming trials, settlements, closings, and hearing commitments by maintaining up-to-date shared calendars for all KOP cases. You will assist attorneys with statutory appeals by preparing, organizing, extracting, and maintaining pertinent legal case and subject area files.
Additional key duties include preparing and proofreading a variety of legal documents for filing with the appropriate court, as well as determining the appropriate legal documents required for filing in the various counties served. You will also create and maintain files for all motor vehicle and non-motor vehicle cases and prepares standard legal forms such as subpoenas, orders, hearing notices, continuance application, and requested pleadings. You will further be responsible for preparing, forwarding, and coordinating with Harrisburg to address closeout memos in license suspension cases, matters sustained to facilitate timely appeals to appellate courts, vacated orders, and more.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week upon successful completion of the training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in King of Prussia. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as a Legal Assistant 1 ( Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or
Four years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including one year of legal clerical support experience;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
