Summary You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the DEPUTY IT (104B), INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY/CYBER DIVISION (104), CORPORATE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (10) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-06 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-14 and GS-15. Responsibilities You will serve as Information System Security Manager (ISSM), responsible for the Cybersecurity Program of Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Research and Engineering Network (NREN). You will be responsible for all Cyber Security Inspections performed by both NAVSEA and Fleet Cyber Command. You will draft, review or validate information security documentation, (e.g. systems security plans, risk assessments, disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, user security guides), for system security assessment and authorization. You will evaluate and document information systems' internal and external controls, identify weaknesses, and develop cost effective recommendations for compliance. You will prepare reports of audit findings and communicate results of audits or special projects to management and higher-level authorities. You will promote awareness of security issues among management and ensure sound security principles are implemented to ensure protection of information. You will ensure rigorous application of cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of all information technology (IT) services. You will be performing the duties of an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) supporting the NAVSEA Research and Engineering Network (NREN). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-05 (GS-13/14 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, implementing, and overseeing a cybersecurity program to mitigate risk and maintain Information Technology (IT) compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency of IT programs, systems, or platforms for an organization.
