PRIMARY FUNCTION/GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform tasks to maintain designated areas in a clean, safe, orderly, and attractive manner. The employee is expected to follow instructions and/or written task schedules to accomplish assigned duties. This position serves all populations of visitors, employees, physicians, and patients.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Communicates all organization related issues honestly, professionally, and timely to Job Coach, Team Leaders, Administrative Assistant, Manager or Director.

Performs the duties necessary to support food services and sanitary conditions of the center.

Cleans and sanitizes tables, carts and equipment according to written techniques appropriate for that @type of material.

Performs general cleaning tasks.

Follows Center policy regarding storage and security of cleaning chemicals

Adheres to BSMH attendance policy (HR-02).

Responsible for the use and care of equipment and other center property. Maintains equipment by proper cleaning and storage. Reports dangerous or broken equipment to team leader. Maintains a clean and neat cart, station, closet, and equipment storage area.

Understands basic safety procedures (RACE, PASS, MSDS, Etc.)

Consistently maintains BSMH standards of personal hygiene and appearance.

Performs all assigned tasks effectively in a responsible team environment.

Completes work assignments in a timely manner

Follows all Infection Control practices, including bio-hazard waste handling, hand washing techniques, and standard or isolated precautions.

Maintains a quality standard while performing job duties

Maintains a good rapport with fellow associates, families and children.

OTHER JOB EXPECTATIONS

Actively participates in the Continuing Education/Improvement Programs

Assists in the orientation of new employees in departmental methods and procedures

Responds to unusual occurrences such as flood, spills, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Works in all areas of childcare center. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, but potential for harm is limited if safety precautions are followed.
