Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
The Electrical Engineer supports the design, development, validation, and commercialization of next-generation Artificial Lift technologies. In this role, you serve as a key technical contributor and project leader within multidisciplinary teams, driving innovation in electrical system architecture, power electronics, and motor drive systems to improve reliability, safety, and product competitiveness. Depending on experience level, you may lead defined technical scopes or own system architecture and provide advanced technical leadership across complex development programs.
Responsibilities
Lead and support electrical system architecture development for Artificial Lift products, including power electronics, motor drives (VFD/VSD), embedded systems, and surface/downhole interfaces.
Develop and execute detailed development plans, validation strategies, and qualification test protocols for new and existing products.
Design and review schematics, PCB layouts, motor control systems, and firmware integration plans, and create associated technical documentation.
Apply simulation and modeling tools to evaluate system performance, thermal behavior, EMI/EMC robustness, and long-term durability.
Perform reliability engineering activities, including FMEA, root cause failure analysis, and risk mitigation planning.
Support international regulatory compliance and certification efforts (for example, IEC, UL, TÜV) to ensure products can be deployed globally.
Contribute to proto@type development, laboratory testing, field trials, and commercialization programs for Artificial Lift and related technologies.
Collaborate closely with Mechanical, Firmware, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Field Operations teams to ensure integrated system performance.
Interface with customers and vendors to resolve technical challenges and align product capabilities with market and application needs.
Drive innovation and contribute to the organization's intellectual property portfolio through new concepts and technical solutions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability enhancement, cost optimization, and manufacturability of electrical systems and components.
Mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and help influence technical standards and design guidelines at higher experience levels.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
Professional experience in electrical system design, testing, and product development.
Hands-on experience with power electronics, motor control systems, or industrial drive technologies.
Working knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and/or Variable Speed Drives (VSD).
Understanding of reliability engineering principles, including FMEA and root cause analysis.
Experience with validation testing and engineering lifecycle processes from concept through commercialization.
Ability to design and review schematics and PCB layouts for low-voltage and motor control applications.
Knowledge of control theory as applied to electric motors and drive systems.
Experience working with electric motors, including permanent magnet motors and related control strategies.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use simulation and modeling tools to evaluate system performance and robustness.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and interfacing with customers and vendors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and Variable Speed Drives (VSD) in industrial or harsh environments.
Knowledge of international certification and compliance standards, including IEC, UL, and TÜV.
Experience supporting product certification or regulatory approval processes for electrical equipment.
Background in oil and gas, Artificial Lift systems, or harsh-environment electrical systems.
Experience in product development engineering, from early concept through field trials and commercialization.
Familiarity with EMI/EMC considerations in power electronics and motor drive design.
Experience with reliability-focused design and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and best practices.
