The Warehouse Lead will participate in and oversee the shipping, receiving, storing, and issuing of products, inventory control, and can prepare related reports. Serve as a lead over one or more assigned warehouse functions; train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff. Must enjoy working with a diverse customer base in a fast-paced setting. The warehouse lead could assume the responsibilities of the warehouse Supervisor when they are out of the facility. The working environment is 85% Warehouse and 15% Office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:-
Safely operate a forklift.
Loading and Unloading Material (flatbed trailers, 53' vans, and rail cars) from a dock and outdoor yard during all seasons and weather conditions.
Read and understand what product(s) to select, and how to load and unload trucks based on pick documents and bills of lading.
Processes Material Movement Transactions in SAP with a very high level of accuracy (Transfer Orders, Scrap, and Bin to Bin Movements)
Cycle count inventory weekly or as required.-Follows the Logistics Standard Operating Procedures to Support and Maintain Warehouse stock location system and code dates to ensure proper inventory turns and adherence to FIFO principles.
Processes Customer Shipments using the outbound process flow in SAP that will ensure optimal location loading, efficient manpower usage, and accurate inventory transactions.
Receives Incoming Finished Goods and Raw Materials and verifies accuracy using the SAP system.
Processes Miscellaneous paperwork & logs data.
Monitors all Inbound and Outbound traffic throughout the facility to minimize wait times for loading and unloading.
Processes return shipments from customers.
Processes Hold Inventory
Investigate shipping & Inventory Errors and develop root cause analysis along with the Supervisor for corrective action.
Gives direction and guidance to Hourly Forklift Operators
Responsible for resolving all Department Sales Force cases timely and effectively.
Provides general Customer Service to Customers and Transportation providers.
Works with Inventory System to create reports and analytical information required to resolve issues with Orders and Inventory.
Ability to safely lift, carry, and stack up to 55lb. bundles of roofing shingles/rolls.
General housekeeping and all other related tasks as assigned.
-Requirements:
2 Years of Warehouse/Supply Chain Experience
2 Years of Forklift Operating Experience
Good working knowledge of Warehouse/Shipping policies, procedures, operations, and general transportation processes. Ability to fill in for Warehouse Supervisor as needed.
Attention to detail and proficiency with internal computer systems including SAP and Microsoft Office.
Good oral communication skills
Strong Team Leadership skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Able to support disaster recovery plans to ensure customers receive uninterrupted service during times of crisis.
Ability to translate data into useful information.
Excellent Attendance Practices Required
Ability to deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations, sensitivity to other's needs, and positive demeanor.
Quality Assurance and Process Control:
Support a zero-defect system through process control, to minimize non-quality related costs and to improve customer satisfaction. This requires defect-free work and an understanding of the requirements of the company's quality system as it pertains to job duties and responsibilities.-
Must be able to check work to ensure conformance to process control instructions, specifications, and quality standards. Identify and segregate non-conforming products.-
Identify the need for and assist in initiating and implementing corrective and preventative actions when appropriate.
