Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist

Location: Whitestown, IN (Onsite)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Employment Type: Full-Time | Non-Remote

About the Role

Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing organization to hire an Accounts Payable (A/P) Specialist to support its Finance team. This role focuses on processing vendor invoices, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely payments in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and payment terms. The A/P Specialist will work closely with internal departments and external vendors to resolve discrepancies and support daily accounting operations.

This position is fully onsite in Whitestown, Indiana.

Key Responsibilities

Receive vendor invoices and route them to department managers for review and approval

Review invoices and payment requests to ensure proper documentation and authorization

Enter approved invoices and contractual obligations into the accounts payable system

Prioritize invoice processing to meet payment terms, capture discounts, and avoid late fees

Maintain vendor documentation, including W-9s, service agreements, and contracts

Respond to vendor inquiries regarding invoice and payment status

Research aged, duplicate, or disputed invoices and coordinate resolution with internal teams

Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on outstanding items

Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits as needed

Adhere to established internal controls, policies, and procedures

Requirements

Qualifications

Strong attention to detail with solid organizational and analytical skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and U.S. GAAP

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams

High level of professionalism, integrity, and accountability

Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAGE, QAD) and Microsoft Office preferred

Education & Experience

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred

3+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience

, ideally within a manufacturing or operations-driven environment

Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
