Responsibilities Serves as a consultant and mentor for continuous improvement projects associated with improving productivity and quality. Establishes direction and goals, develops training and provides support while monitoring the progress of all assigned projects. Provides oversight and support to assigned continuous improvement projects. Develops deployment plans and time lines or milestone charts to achieve objectives for assigned projects. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. Education: GS-12 and GS-13: There is no substitution of education for specialized experience at this grade level. OR Experience: GS-12 and GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. To be creditable, this experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled. Some examples of this qualifying experience are: GS-12: Experience working as a member of a continuous improvement team in an FPI project to improve productivity and quality. Experience as a team member contributing to the establishment of goals for continuous improvement projects. Experience with applying Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools that yield improvements to production or quality. GS-13: Experience monitoring continuous improvement projects in the FPI associated with improving productivity and quality. Experience establishing direction and goals for continuous improvement projects. Experience with the deployment of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools to achieve continuous improvement initiatives. Experience developing plans and time lines or milestone charts to achieve objectives for continuous improvement projects. Additional Information In accordance with 5 U.S.C. 3307, a maximum entry age of 36 has been established for original appointment to a position in a Bureau of Prisons institution. The representative rate for this position is $117,081 per annum ($56.10 per hour).
