Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Jackson, Michigan. This is a Contract to permanent position, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic accounting team while ensuring timely and accurate financial operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring expertise in accounts payable processes and systems.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage 120-150 invoices weekly, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.

Oversee timely payments, including check runs, credit card payments, and ACH transactions.

Maintain accurate account coding and invoice documentation to support financial reporting.

Manage and update supply orders as needed to ensure operational efficiency.

Collaborate with the accounting team to split duties and maintain seamless workflow.

Utilize Abila MIP software for accounts payable processes and maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.

Handle cash transactions ranging from $2,000 to $3,000, ensuring proper documentation and security.

Organize and scan paper invoices, contributing to the transition to a fully paperless system.

Support interim financial processes and assist in meeting deadlines for payments and reporting.

Conduct regular reviews of accounts payable practices to identify areas for improvement. Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field.

Proficiency in processing accounts payable tasks, including coding invoices and managing payments.

Experience with Abila MIP software or similar accounting systems.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and analyze spreadsheets.

Familiarity with ACH transactions, check runs, and credit card payment handling.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to manage high volumes of invoices.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team and adapt to shifting priorities.
