Work Environment
The role is based in a women's health clinic connected to a hospital in a temperature-controlled, modern clinical environment. The Medical Assistant works closely with a small, supportive team that typically includes two providers and at least one other Medical Assistant. The clinic manages a steady patient volume, with monthly visits ranging from approximately 120 to 150 patients depending on scheduled and walk-in visits. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with no weekend work and holidays off. Typical daily flow includes walk-in acute visits from 8:00 a.m. to 8:50 a.m., scheduled appointments from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., a one-hour lunch break, and afternoon appointments from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with closing tasks completed by 5:00 p.m. The clinic provides easy, free access to parking without the need for parking garages or navigating heavy downtown traffic. Staff use EMR systems and standard clinical equipment such as vital sign monitors, phlebotomy supplies, and centrifuges. The culture is described as friendly, welcoming, and team-oriented, with providers who are appreciative, enjoy teaching, and value collaboration with Medical Assistants and office staff. The organization regularly hosts staff events such as food trucks and catered lunches and emphasizes a family-like atmosphere where colleagues greet each other and maintain a positive environment. Leadership has a strong clinical background and prioritizes patient care, while offering clear opportunities for growth and development for those interested in building a long-term career in healthcare.
