This role exists to help define, shape, and sell that opportunity. As Director of Product Marketing, Windows Cloud - Innovation, you will operate as a senior individual contributor-bringing clarity to ambiguous problem spaces, connecting product vision to customer value, and influencing strategy, investment, and go-to-market (GTM) direction through strong narrative, insight, and cross-functional leadership. Success requires technical fluency, commercial instinct, and the ability to lead through influence while translating innovation into durable business impact.

Responsibilities
Drive the product marketing strategy for innovation and incubation workstreams across Windows Cloud solutions, including Windows 365 and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Own the end-to-end positioning, value propositions, and go-to-market (GTM) strategy for workstreams, from early concept through launch and scale, ensuring ideas translate into real customer benefits and market impact. Measure, monitor, and iterate as needed.
Work within Windows Cloud PMM and cross-functionally to ensure GTM meets business goals, and influence full funnel from awareness to consideration, purchase, deployment, and usage.
Develop and maintain core assets such as pitch decks, demos, videos, roadmap decks, etc. to be used by the field in customer conversations.
Act as a trusted partner to and provide on-behalf-of support to people manager as needed, helping ensure continuity, clarity, and momentum across priority workstreams.
Represent GTM perspectives in leadership forums, influencing prioritization and investment decisions by articulating customer value and market impact.
Collaborate with engineering, outbound marketing, field teams, and others for successful showcase at Microsoft Ignite and other events.
Lead competitive analysis and market research to inform product differentiation and influence roadmap decisions.
Identify opportunities to grow the overall Windows Cloud business. Incubate and advance new innovation workstreams, shaping both product direction and associated GTM approach.
Collaborate with other PMMs to integrate Windows Cloud narratives into broader AI and related product messaging, assets, and campaigns.
Contribute to internal storytelling and executive communications around Windows Cloud + AI strategy and impact.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 4+ years experience in business
OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in business

15+ years of product marketing experience across cloud, AI, and enterprise software.
Product leadership and cross-functional influence, leading product programs, partnering closely with engineering, shaping product roadmaps, and driving alignment across teams and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
Strategic, customer-centric mindset with analytical problem-solving skills and expertise in leveraging market, customer, and competitive insights to inform product and marketing direction.
Go-to-market execution expertise, including launch strategies, positioning, messaging, field enablement, and demand generation.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical product concepts into compelling narratives for non-technical, technical, and executive audience.
External product representation and evangelism, including analyst briefings, press interviews, industry events, and customer engagements.
Product Marketing IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,900 - $251,900 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $272,300 per year.
