The Minnesota Sex Offender Program (MSOP) is a residential, sex offense specific treatment program in a modified therapeutic community and secure setting that provides services to over 700 individuals who have been civilly committed for sexual offending. MSOP is a national leader in the industry and is committed to providing services on the leading edge of the comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and management of clients. MSOP has facilities in Moose Lake and St. Peter, MN.
The Office & Administrative Specialist, Senior provides work direction and technical assistance to other health services staff and develop, implement, and maintain office procedures and work systems to efficiently and effectively ensure timely delivery of nursing and medical services to the MSOP population.
Responsibilities Include:
Coordinate and monitor all off-site specialty medical consultation requests and authorizations
Establishes process and procedures for completion of all off-site specialty consult requests, necessary documentation and procedure follow-up
Function as coordinator and lead worker of clerical support of nursing services while demonstrating a high level of discretion and confidentiality to develop, implement, manage and maintain the medical records system procedures, practices and clerical support functions for the Health Services department at MSOP
Serve as a positive role model to clients during the course of providing services to demonstrate effective professional and personal behavior
Minimum Qualifications
To qualify, applicants must have:
A high school diploma or GED;,
Customer service skills to provide courteous, prompt, and accurate information to clients, staff and other stakeholders in person, on the phone, through email and other written or electronic correspondence;
Data entry performance skills using Microsoft Office or similar data entry system(s) to enter data into specific fields, receive, review and compare source documents to database information including locating, identifying, and correcting data entry errors. Software skills to utilize other applicable applications such as Avatar and Phoenix;
Database, Documents, and Records Management skills sufficient to maintain electronic or paper files for efficient organization and retrieval of information, compile [MB1] , research and analyze information from databases;
Specialized terminology including medical terminology to develop and maintain accurate medical records and transcribe medical reports, correspondence, records, patient- care information, statistics, medical research, and administrative material;
Spreadsheetsskillsto utilize applications, such as Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to enter, compile, store, retrieve data;
Typing/Keyboarding skills to compose correspondence, format documents, and create reports, presentations, charts, and graphs;
Word processing skills to use software to create, format, edit, print, and save a variety of documents including written correspondence, records, reports and forms; and
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a correctional or secured environment
