Accounts Payable Clerk/ Junior Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk or entry level Staff Accountant to join our team in Long Beach, California. This Contract to permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic hospitality organization while developing your accounting expertise. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

Review and code invoices for proper allocation to accounts.

Perform regular check runs and ensure timely payments to vendors.

Handle invoice processing and verify supporting documentation.

Reconcile accounts payable records to maintain accurate financial data.

Assist in weekly accounts payable activities, including reporting and issue resolution.

Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams to resolve discrepancies.

Support month-end closing activities and prepare relevant documentation.

Maintain organized financial records and documentation for audit purposes.

Collaborate with team members to streamline accounts payable processes and improve efficiency. Requirements - Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.

Proficiency in processing invoices and coding transactions accurately.

Familiarity with check runs and payment processing procedures.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Excellent communication abilities to liaise with vendors and team members.

Ability to handle weekly accounts payable tasks and meet deadlines.

Experience in reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies.

Knowledge of hospitality industry accounting practices is a plus.
