Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team in Monterey Park, California. In this role, you will manage various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and billing tasks. This is a long-term contract position offering stability and growth opportunities within the import/export industry.

Responsibilities:

Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Assist with daily invoice processing, posting, and tracking to maintain financial records.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries and credit card applications.

Collaborate with team members to maintain a seamless workflow within the accounting department.

Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting regulations in all financial processes.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in accounting operations.

Provide clerical support as needed, contributing to various administrative tasks within the department.

Assist in preparing financial reports and documentation for internal and external audits.

Maintain accurate records and ensure data integrity across all accounting systems. Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and account reconciliation.

Proficiency in using accounting software and tools, with familiarity in AS400 or similar systems preferred.

Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues and management.

Experience in the import/export industry is a plus.

Commitment to meeting deadlines and handling multiple tasks efficiently.
