Job Title: General Mechanical Technician - Field Service and Warehouse Support
Job Description
This role combines hands-on mechanical work with inventory and shipping responsibilities to support field service projects and day-to-day warehouse operations. You will rebuild valves and positive displacement pumps on-site, assist with other process equipment, and ensure that parts and equipment move efficiently through the warehouse, from receiving and storage to packaging and shipment. The position suits someone mechanically inclined who enjoys working with tools, collaborating with others, and thriving in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment that includes regional and national travel.
Responsibilities
Work closely with field service team members to perform on-site valve rebuilds and positive displacement pump rebuilds for customer projects.
Support additional on-site services, including work on homogenizers and scrape surface heat exchangers, as needed to meet customer and business requirements.
Unpack incoming shipment deliveries and verify the condition and completeness of received items.
Perform a three-way match of packing lists, received parts, and purchase orders to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
Process inventory replenishment orders promptly so that materials are received, recorded, and stored in the correct warehouse locations.
Execute regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory levels within the system and support inventory integrity.
Manage shipment requirements such as ship-complete orders, freight-collect arrangements, and partial shipments in line with project and customer needs.
Schedule trucks for less-than-truckload (LTL) and dedicated truckload shipments to ensure projects ship on time and meet deadlines.
Prepare large equipment shipments, including pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, by building crates and frames that protect products during transit.
Process pick tickets for process components such as pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, as well as parts including gaskets, o-rings, bearings, seals, and springs pulled from inventory.
Package and ship parts orders accurately and efficiently to fulfill orders generated by the inside sales team.
Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, updating parts catalogs, filing documentation, and archiving records to support daily business operations.
Label, pack, and load items for shipment according to specified requirements and standards.
Inspect and unload delivery vehicles to ensure incoming shipments meet quality and quantity expectations.
Operate a forklift safely to move, load, and unload materials and equipment within the warehouse.
Learn and follow various business processes and procedures related to field service, inventory management, and shipping.
Collaborate closely with colleagues in the field and warehouse to support project timelines and operational goals.
Work overtime and weekends when required to meet business and project needs.
Travel regionally and nationally to support on-site service work and project requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the operations.
Essential Skills
Proven experience using hand tools and power tools in a mechanical or maintenance setting.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand how mechanical systems and components function.
Hands-on experience performing maintenance tasks such as equipment teardown and reassembly.
Mechanical troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve issues with pumps, valves, and related equipment.
Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for assembly, disassembly, and repair.
Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality in all aspects of work.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment with shifting priorities.
Self-motivated, hardworking, and focused, with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines.
Ability to read and interpret manuals and technical documentation and retain information on various @types of equipment.
Capability to learn and follow multiple business processes and procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with pump assembly and valve assembly in an industrial or service environment.
Background in repair and rebuilding of mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and heat exchangers.
Familiarity with inventory processes, including cycle counting, replenishment, and pick ticket processing.
Experience building crates or frames for large equipment shipments to protect products during transportation.
Ability to manage shipment requirements such as ship-complete orders, freight-collect arrangements, and partial shipments.
Experience scheduling LTL and dedicated truckload shipments to meet project timelines.
Comfort performing administrative tasks such as data entry, document filing, catalog updates, and document archiving.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks across field service, inventory, and shipping activities.

Work Environment
This position blends field service work with warehouse and shop activities. You travel regionally and nationally to customer sites, including working most holidays and weekends when needed to support project schedules. On-site work involves rebuilding valves and positive displacement pumps and assisting with other process equipment such as homogenizers and scrape surface heat exchangers. In the warehouse and shop, you work around industrial equipment, using hand tools, power tools, and forklifts to handle, assemble, and move components. You spend time in shipping and receiving areas unpacking deliveries, inspecting and unloading trucks, building crates and frames, and preparing equipment and parts for LTL and truckload shipments. The environment is fast-paced and schedule-driven, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork, and requires appropriate work attire suitable for a hands-on mechanical and warehouse setting.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
