Summary About the Position: This position is located in the US Army Sustainment Command 407th Army Field Support Brigade, Logistic Readiness Center on Fort Cavazos, TX. Responsibilities Review deployment and/or mobilization plans, Homeland Defense Plans or exercises of supported units for regulatory conformance and required documentation. Participate in coordination meetings to establish deployment timelines, requirements and unit readiness Validate shipping documentation for unit deployments, production of Military Shipping Labels (MSL) and Radio Frequency TAG production during mission execution Originate or revise local and higher headquarters publications in correlation with policies and procedures of command and higher headquarters. Specialized Experience:: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) Preparing or verifying shipping requirements for mobility or deployment of military units or freight of all kind, and 2) Managing equipment or personnel movements by all modes of transportation such as air, rail, motor, military convoy, and/or ocean transport via commercial or military modes. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 13 months by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted. Position may be made permanent without further competition. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met.
