Optum Podiatry, part of Optum, has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Associate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. Associate Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for the completion of set processes and protocols. Works cooperatively with all members of the care team to support the vision and mission of the organization, deliver excellent customer service and adhere to Lean processes. Supports the teams in meeting financial, clinical and service goals.
Schedule : This position follows a 37.5-hour work week . The standard schedule is as follows:
Monday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The final work schedule will be determined by the hiring manager upon hire .

2403 Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park, NY 11040 ( Wednesday and Saturdays)
Primary Responsibilities:
Greets patients, family members and guests with a friendly smile
Assists patients with signing in and completing registration
Enters and scans patient's demographic and insurance information into Epic
Verifies insurance eligibility and benefit information; informs patients of insurance benefits
Collects co-payments and patient balances according to OPTUM payment guidelines
Ability to maintain a work queue list- complete any pending actions ie referrals, scheduling appointments
Confirms and schedule appointments
Check In and Check Out patients
Answers incoming phone calls in a courteous and prompt manner; directs calls and takes messages
Bring patients into the treatment room
Ability to be cross trained for medical assistant
Assists physician and clinical staff by coordinating follow up care for patients; schedules referral appointments for patients and obtains authorization for diagnostic testing
All employees are expected to keep abreast on current medical requirements relevant to their position, which includes maintaining patient confidentiality and abiding by all HIPAA and OSHA requirements
Ability to travel to other locations as needed
Assists with other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma/GED
1+ years of computer proficiency experience with Microsoft office programs
Ability to work 37.5 hrs./week

Preferred Qualifications:
1+ years of customer service OR healthcare related experience
Epic experience
Knowledge of insurance carriers and managed care plans
Ability to be cross trained as a medical assistant
Soft Skills:
Ability to work independently and maintain good judgment and accountability
Demonstrated ability to work well with health care providers
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet all deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret information from others
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
