Job Purpose:
Lead, design, set-up and enhance manufacturing methods and processes and work concurrently with New Product Development to ensure manufacturing feasibility and implementation of new products.
Essential Job Functions:
Design, manufacture and/or program final product, individual components, proto@types, tooling and manufacturing devices (custom design fixtures and devices for in-house use).
Evaluate highly technical production and process problems and coordinate investigations and improvements.
Estimate manufacturing costs, develop time standards and develop processes for various operations.
Lead in developing new operation layouts to maximize utilization of floor space and man-power.
Key contributor to capital equipment selection and purchases.
Implement Lean Manufacturing techniques to reduce non-value added activities and increase quality, delivery, safety, customer satisfaction and minimize production costs.
Coordinate tooling to support design specifications and schedule for new products or enhancements.
Initiate and process Engineering Changes in an accurate and timely manner.
Lead, track, update and communicate progress of assigned engineering projects.
Leverage data analytics to make strategic and tactical business decisions.
Lead complex capital projects.
Lead new product introductions.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills Needed:
Required
High School Diploma
3+ year's working experience in an Engineering role
Must be fluent in blueprint reading
Must be experienced in computer skills with MS Word, CAD CAM Systems and Excel
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field
Ability to create designs using Solid Works
Experience troubleshooting electronics
Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
Working Conditions:

At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits. The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $78,000 - $113,300 annually.The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities. The salary range reflected is based on a primary work location of Owatonna, MN and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength's Production Bonus Plan, which offers the potential to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics. Bonus eligibility is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
