Apply now!Summary:Scotty's Contracting and Stone is seeking a Construction Laborerto join ourHeavy Civil Division.This position supports the successful completion of heavy highway, industrial, and commercial sitework projects. This position requires performing a variety of physical duties on active construction sites to support safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. Laborers work under the direction of the Foreman, following all safety standards and project specifications. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and capable of working effectively in a team environment under varying weather and site conditions.Key Responsibilities:- Perform general heavy civil construction labor duties- Direct and control the flow of traffic through construction zones using signs, hand signals, and other traffic control devices.- Communicate clearly with crew members, equipment operators, and the public to ensure safety and efficient traffic movement.- Monitor traffic and work zone conditions, adjusting signals and equipment as needed to maintain a safe environment.- Assist with the safe entry and exit of construction vehicles and equipment from the work zone.- Remain alert and attentive to changing conditions and potential hazards at all times.- Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding work zone safety and personal protective equipment (PPE). - Adhere to all company, local, and federal safety regulations and protocols to minimize risk to workers, drivers, and pedestrians. - Remain aware of site conditions and report any hazards or issues to the lead or foreman promptly. - Be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.- Perform other physical tasks required to maintain the job site. Qualifications:- Previous experience performing similar keyresponsibilities.- Basic knowledge of construction tools, equipment, and safety practices- Must possess a valid driver's license with a motor vehicle report that is in good standing.- Strong attention to safety and adherence toprotocols.- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Physical Requirements:- Climbing: Must have the physical capability to safely climb into and out of equipment that is greater than 10 feet off the ground on uneven terrain multiple times daily.- Heights: Ability to climb and work safely at heights exceeding 10 feet.- Balance: Including standing and walking on extremely slick and uneven surfaces while carrying.- V
