Summary You will serve as a AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the ???????Public Works of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Responsibilities You will locate and repair malfunctions to the main operating mechanical components of large, complex heating, ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems (HVAC). You will disassemble and repair a variety of components including compressors, evaporators, condensers, cooling oils, air handlers, bearings, water control valves, air dampers, etc. You will conduct visual and audible examination of equipment components by applying prescribed test procedures and equipment's, and by exploration or probable reasons for equipment failure. You will perform maintenance, calibration, modification, installation, repair and replacement of analog and direct digital controls (DDC) systems and equipment. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job.
