Description
Imagine being at the ground floor of a venture that's transforming one of life's biggest purchases - autos. Amazon Autos is reimagining the entire car shopping experience, and we need a visionary leader to help us scale from startup to help transform the industry.
Join Amazon Autos team on an exhilarating journey to reinvent the car shopping experience! We're transforming how people discover, compare, and purchase vehicles - and we're looking for passionate self-starters ready to fuel our growth in a fast-growing and highly innovative startup environment. This is your opportunity to join a startup venture in the early stages of its development and be a key player in shaping the future of the automotive industry.
Imagine being the architect behind Amazon Autos' sales transformation - where every process you design, every automation you implement, and every friction point you eliminate directly accelerates how we revolutionize car buying for millions of customers.
As Sr. Sales Operations Manager, you won't just lead operations - you'll build the future of how Amazon enters one of the world's largest industries. You'll be the strategic force that transforms complexity into clarity, chaos into systems, and manual work into intelligent automation. This is your chance to build something from the early stages at Amazon scale.
As the team leader, you will be the operational innovator who empowers our Business Development, Onboarding, and Seller Success teams to focus on what they do best - building relationships, acquiring customers, and driving seller success - while you eliminate the operational burden that slows them down. Think of yourself as equal parts strategist, builder, and change agent. Your opportunity is to design and deploy scalable solutions that not only solve today's problems, but also anticipate tomorrow's challenges. You will build the mechanisms, frameworks, and tools that become the backbone of Amazon Autos' go-to-market engine.
Key job responsibilities
The impact that you will drive includes:
Architect operational excellence from ambiguity - building the playbooks, processes, and systems that transform how we recruit dealers, onboard sellers, and ensure their success
Engineer time back for your colleagues through intelligent automation and centralized processes, converting hours of manual work into minutes of strategic impact
Anticipate and eliminate friction before it becomes a bottleneck - you'll see around corners, identifying where deals stall and designing elegant solutions that keep momentum flowing
Translate complexity into clarity by building decision frameworks and operating models that bring structure to fast-moving, ambiguous environments
Drive transformational change that sticks - leading adoption initiatives with the perfect balance of data-driven rigor and customer-obsessed empathy
Partner with senior leaders across the organization, bringing both strategic vision and execution excellence to every conversation
As the Sales Operations lead you will combine analytical horsepower with builder mentality. You are equally comfortable presenting operational strategy to VPs and rolling up your sleeves to map process flows. You see systems where others see chaos, and you have an innate ability to design solutions that scale. You balance precision with pragmatism - you know when to optimize for perfection and when to ship and iterate. You are deeply grounded in data and process, yet you never lose sight of the human experience. You're a systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity and builds consensus across diverse stakeholders. Most importantly, you're obsessed with removing friction - not just for the sake of efficiency, but because you understand that every minute saved is a minute redirected toward customer experience and driving the Amazon Autos flywheel.
A day in the life
Morning: You start your day reviewing dashboard metrics that track operational health across the seller pipeline. You notice contracting timelines have increased by 15% - your analytical mind immediately starts forming hypotheses. You schedule a working session with the Business Development team to dig into root causes.
Mid-Morning: You're in a strategy session with Business Development leadership, presenting your proposal for an automated dealer recruitment scoring system. Using data from the past 12 months, you've identified patterns that predict which prospects convert fastest. The room is energized - this could save the team 10 hours per week while improving conversion rates.
Afternoon: You are collaborating with your cross-functional partners in Product and Engineering on the roadmap for a new seller portal that will centralize communications and reduce back-and-forth by 40%. You're translating operational pain points into technical requirements, ensuring the solution addresses real customer needs.
Late Afternoon: You're reviewing change management plans for an upcoming tool rollout. You're crafting communications that will drive adoption - balancing the "what's in it for me" with clear resources. You know that even the best solution fails without thoughtful implementation.
End of Day: You're updating your operational transformation roadmap, prioritizing initiatives based on impact and effort. You send a detailed update to leadership, complete with metrics showing how your recent automation initiative has freed up 40 hours of capacity this month - capacity now redirected to strategic seller relationships.
Throughout the day, you're the person people seek out when they're stuck, when processes break down, or when they need someone who can see the bigger picture while managing the details.
