This position functions as the Contract Specialist and assists the Legal Director with contract activities for the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA). This position exists to manage BCA contracts throughout their life cycle, which includes the development, management, and execution of the various BCA contracts and agreements and the tracking of funding related to a contract. The work effort focuses on professional/technical contracts subject to Office of State Procurement contracting requirements. The Contract Specialist is a point of contact and subject matter expert for all BCA contracting needs. This position works closely with the BCA legal team, including staff attorneys.
This position may be eligible to telework up to two (2) days per week, after completion of a probationary period.

Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of experience administering public sector and/or government contracts.
OR
Three (3) years of experience providing administrative support duties for contract management, such as:
Experience drafting and editing business documents.
Managing and tracking workflow from start to finish, and
Following and interpreting documented processes and procedures.
AND
Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities.
*A bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience providing administrative support duties.

Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of organization, effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and perform efficiently under time constraints.
Proven ability to work independently while adhering to established guidelines and instructions.
Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams, and Outlook.
Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing; ability to respond openly to requests and concerns; experience translating technical information into plain language for a variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in state government.
Knowledge of the full lifecycle of state contracts, including solicitation, evaluation, negotiation, contract execution, monitoring, payment and closeout, including applicable state statutes.
Experience working with the State of Minnesota's Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT) system.
Knowledge of the State of Minnesota's professional/technical contracting requirements.
Physical Requirements
Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools. May need to maintain a stationary position for long periods of time while carrying out job duties.
