Job Title: Manufacturing Production Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Production Technician to perform metal fabrication and mechanical repairs in our busy fabrication shop . Experience in operating power tools or basic welding is highly valued, but we are ready to provide one-on-one training for the right candidate. While candidates with 1-3 years of experience are preferred, no formal certifications or prior experience are required to start.

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of tools: Use electric and pneumatic power tools-such as circular saws, drills, grinders, and riveting guns-to complete daily production tasks.

Fabricate and weld: Perform welding on aluminum and steel and operate shop equipment like press brakes, shears, and overhead cranes (we will provide training and guidance).

Measure with precision: Follow production instructions accurately by using a tape measure and performing basic math to ensure every part is built correctly.

Stay active: Work in a physically hands-on role that involves standing, bending, and reaching throughout your shift.

Collaborate: Work closely with a small team of 2-5 coworkers to meet production goals and keep the shop running smoothly.

Safety first: Follow all safety procedures, wear required protective gear, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Essential Skills

Tool proficiency: Ability or strong interest in learning to safely use hand tools, power tools, and large fabrication machinery.

Basic Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to support accurate measurements.

Physical Stamina: Capability to stand for up to 10 hours a day in a production environment.

Lifting Ability: Ability to lift 10-25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds for much of the shift.

Reliability: Possession of a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to attend a consistent Monday-Friday schedule.

Work Environment

You will work in a professional indoor manufacturing shop alongside a team of approximately 120 employees. The company provides all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, gloves, and safety glasses. Please note that the role requires wearing steel-toe or composite-toe boots and standard shop attire (jeans and at least a short-sleeve shirt).

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Story City, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.50/hr.
