Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Analyst to join our team in Long Beach, California. In this role, you will oversee fuel inventory accounting, reporting, and reconciliation processes while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate data management. This is a long-term contract position within the dynamic Oil & Gas industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to critical operational and financial functions.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with store teams to ensure daily data entry of source documents is accurately completed.

Conduct daily account variance analysis and investigate discrepancies as needed.

Prepare and distribute daily and weekly financial metrics and management reports to internal and external stakeholders.

Import fuel prices, invoices, non-fuel invoices, and fuel drafts into the system.

Process and reconcile fuel and freight bills, maintaining supporting documentation for audits.

Compare fueling transactions with physical inventory stocks to identify daily gain or loss.

Record inventory movements such as transfers and adjustments in the system.

Reconcile credit card transactions and imports.

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and financial close processes.

Serve as the subject matter expert for all fuel inventory-related matters and ensure operational process compliance. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in general ledger accounting, including balance sheet reconciliations.

Practical knowledge of accounting principles and inventory management.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or 3 years of experience in an analyst role preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially intermediate to advanced Excel skills.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to support and build customer relationships.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changes, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Experience in the petroleum or retail industry is a plus.
