Summary The Electrical Worker Leader is considered a working leader in charge of all work performed by the Electrician shop. The incumbent leads Electronic Mechanics, Electricians, Electrical Workers, and trainees as assigned. May be called up to advise Engineering Technicians, Assistant Engineer Officer, Engineer Officer, and others on matters related to their field. Duties of the Electrical Worker Leader include but are not limited to: Plan and lay out work to be performed on specific tasks, i.e. ordering of material to construct or replace complete motor control center for critical life safety equipment and systems. Prepare electrical diagrams in planning and laying out of work. Knowledge of principles and application of the National Electric Code. Knowledge of 4160/13,800 volt distribution system. Extensive Knowledge of A.C. and D.C. theory. Size, layout and integrate systems associated with the operation of the HVAC and the energy management system. Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on extremely complex systems. i.e. switchgear associated with multiple emergency generators which serve all critical, life safety and emergency equipment loads for the medical center. Repair of multiple pump and compressor systems such as domestic water boosters, primary chill water pumps, secondary chill water pumps, medical/surgical vacuum medical air compressors, dental evaluation systems, service air compressors, centrifugal chillers, and reciprocating chillers. Monitor systems through energy management system, which require additional complex circuits in order for them to be remotely monitored at the boiler room and other predetermined locations. Operational checks made prior to and after repairs to any systems to ensure proper pressures, temperatures, alarms, controls and customer satisfaction is achieved. Repairs electrical distribution systems and equipment to include electric beds, parking gate system, various communication systems, laundry equipment, pharmacy CMOP equipment, kitchen equipment, etc. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM Position Description Title/PD#: Electrician Leader/PD708380 Physical Requirements: This position requires walking, standing, bending, lifting, carrying and pushing or pulling moderately heavy loads. Incumbent must have 20/20 color vision with or without glasses. Working Conditions: This position requires working overtime, in uncontrolled environment, confined spaces, from ladders and rooftops. Incumbent shall be subjected to the hazards normally encountered in the trade and various @types of infections.
