Job purpose

BorgWarner Drivetrain and Morse Systems is currently looking for a talented individual to join as a Mechanical Engineering Co-op - Engine Solenoids, at our Powertrain Technical Center, Auburn Hills MI.

This position would start in May 2026, and end in December 2026. A typical student in this program works 30-40 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

Assists in design, development, and validation of new products

Works with product engineers to support proto@type builds with documentation and data processing

Works with CAD designers or individually to develop tooling used for assembly, performance and validation testing

Gathers benchmarking data (performance, design, manufacturing strategy) of competitors' products and documents with reports

Assists test engineers in managing test plans, setting up durability tests and writing reports

What we're looking for

Current full-time enrollment in an accredited college, university, vocational/trade school.

Ability to report onsite at least three days to our Auburn Hills Campus

Engineering Student (Mechanical preferred)

GPA of 3.0 or better

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Computer skills in Microsoft Office products

Familiarity with CAD/CAE tools preferred

Ability to report onsite
