The College of Engineering Business Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Intern to support the financial operations of a large private research institution. This role offers hands-on, real-world experience in university finance, providing exposure to accounting processes, financial reporting, and sponsored project administration within a complex academic environment.
Responsibilities:
Assist with account reconciliations, including reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies, and preparing supporting documentation.
Support the preparation of financial reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
Contribute to sponsored project accounting, including expense reviews, budget monitoring, and compliance checks.
Help maintain financial records in accordance with university policies and audit requirements.
Participate in process improvement efforts to streamline financial workflows.
Perform additional administrative or analytical tasks as assigned by the Business Office team.
Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
Interest in financial operations within higher education is a plus.
A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered
