We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Assistant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Lisle, Illinois. This part-time role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic steel manufacturing environment while developing valuable skills. No prior accounting experience is required, but a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities are essential.

Responsibilities:

Input a high volume of invoices, ranging from 50-100 per week, into the accounting system with speed and accuracy.

Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Customer Service, Billing, and Accounting to ensure invoice details are accurate and resolve any discrepancies.

Maintain organized and detailed records to ensure consistent and reliable handling of financial data.

Utilize Microsoft Excel for basic data tracking and spreadsheet management, as well as Outlook for clear and effective communication.

Assist with general office administrative tasks as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork.

Follow established procedures and guidelines, taking direction from supervisors and senior staff.

Contribute to a supportive team atmosphere by offering assistance to colleagues and asking insightful questions.

Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as required, showcasing a proactive and cooperative work ethic.

The hourly pay range for this position is $23 to $26/hour. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance. Requirements - Previous administrative experience in an office setting, including tasks such as data entry, filing, or team support.

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with no need for advanced formula expertise.

Strong interpersonal skills, including approachability, politeness, and a collaborative attitude.

Ability to handle numerical data efficiently and accurately, especially in high-volume scenarios.

A positive mindset and eagerness to learn new skills, with no prior accounting experience necessary.

Capacity to adapt quickly to changing priorities and tasks.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate data management.

Interest in growth and development within the company.
