JOB SUMMARY
The AI Governance Senior Program Manager is responsible for leading the implementation and ongoing administration of Choice's AI governance operating model to promote responsible, compliant, and risk-aligned use of artificial intelligence systems across the enterprise.
This role is an individual contributor within the Information Technology Risk Management organization and serves as a key contributor within Technology Governance & Service Delivery, reporting to the Director, Service Management . The position partners closely with Technology, Legal, Privacy, Security, Procurement, Data Science, and business stakeholders to help operationalize AI governance standards, facilitate AI risk assessments, support model lifecycle oversight activities, and promote adherence to internal policies and evolving regulatory requirements.
The role requires strong program coordination and analytical skills, along with the ability to apply established governance and risk frameworks to new and emerging AI use cases. The position operates with moderate autonomy within defined governance structures and contributes to continuous improvement efforts under the direction of senior leadership.
AI Governance Framework Implementation & Support
Lead the implementation and maintenance of Choice's AI Governance Framework, including associated policies, standards, procedures, and documentation requirements.
Define and document governance processes for AI risk assessments, model documentation, validation checkpoints, monitoring activities, and transparency requirements.
Partner with stakeholders to ensure governance processes align with internal risk management practices and established regulatory guidance.
Manage integration of AI governance processes into existing enterprise risk and compliance workflows.
AI Risk Assessment & Analysis
Facilitate AI risk assessments for models, vendors, and business use cases using established evaluation methodologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to assess risks across fairness, bias, explainability, privacy, security, and operational resilience dimensions.
Apply standardized risk scoring methodologies and document assessment findings.
Prepare summaries and reporting materials for review by senior governance leaders and committees.
Cross-Functional Program Coordination
Manage structured project plans related to AI governance rollout and adoption efforts.
Coordinate working group meetings and track action items across product, engineering, legal, compliance, and business stakeholders.
Prepare governance recommendations, stakeholder communications, and training materials.
Provide subject matter input during governance discussions and project reviews.
Monitoring, Reporting & Process Improvement
Manage monitoring activities for AI systems, including tracking compliance with governance requirements and identifying potential control gaps.
Maintain dashboards and metrics that reflect AI governance program status and adoption trends.
Identify opportunities to improve documentation processes, streamline workflows, and enhance reporting clarity.
Stay informed of regulatory updates and industry best practices and share relevant insights with leadership.
Other Duties as Assigned
Support special projects, documentation initiatives, internal audits, and committee preparation as needed.
Participate in broader Technology Governance initiatives aligned with enterprise risk management priorities.
SKILLS, EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Risk Management, Public Policy, or related field; or equivalent experience.
5-8 years of experience in governance, risk management, compliance, technology risk, AI/ML operations, data governance, or related areas.
Professional certifications (PMP, CISA, CRISC, or similar) preferred.
Experience applying governance or risk management frameworks within technology environments.
Working knowledge of AI lifecycle processes, model risk considerations, and data governance principles.
Experience supporting regulatory or compliance initiatives within structured frameworks.
Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into structured outputs.
Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present information clearly to management audiences.
Solid organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams concurrently.
Ability to operate effectively in an evolving regulatory and technology environment.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $123,000 to $145,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, qualifications, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
