Summary This position is located at the Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida. Responsibilities This position is located at Jacksonville National Cemetery. The primary mission of the cemetery is to meet the needs of veterans and their eligible dependents by providing dignified burials and maintaining the cemetery as a national shrine. The incumbent serves as the program support assistant providing management and administrative support to the cemetery. The incumbent also performs cemetery representative duties. At the GS-7 level, the incumbent exhibits expertise in data manipulation utilizing Excel; serves as a record manager or privacy manager; serves as the backup to the Budget Analyst and may prepare, monitor, manage and execute the Jacksonville NC operating budget during the absence of the Program Specialist; and performs cemetery representative duties to include scheduling. Performs work involving the collection, compilation, and/or tracking of data and statistical information in support of an organization's program operation such as complaint logs, after action reports, timeliness marking graves reports (TMG), and Management and Decision Support System (MADSS). These reports include but are not limited to: aggregation of data for the National Shrine Commitment for all sections of cemetery operations, monthly MADSS reports, weekly reports for District, daily workload reports, grave site layout, TMG, and Active Duty report. Maintains the Adjacent Gravesite (AGS) records and updates them daily to ensure accurate records match the cemetery maps. Assists in the planning, review, and reporting of data/statistical results of programs/project studies. Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes computerized data sets, and retrieves computerized data. Performs a basic analysis of the data and generates a variety of reports. Coordinates incoming data from a variety of sources. Reviews documents, reports, and/or applications for omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry to complete and accurate. Enters pertinent information into an automated tracking system. Maintains automated system of program specific data to track suspense's on items such as project milestones, progress reports, funding, accomplishments, compliance strategies, etc. Will serve as the primary records manager and as alternate privacy officer. The incumbent with be the primary point of contact for updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Jacksonville National Cemetery. Performs public outreach as needed. Work schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. May include occasional weekends. Due to the mission of the National Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days at any given time. Additionally, when a Federal holiday falls on a Monday or Friday, staff may be required to work on that holiday or a Saturday. All staff is required to work Memorial Day and Veteran's Day each year. Staff will be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary to meet the needs of the cemetery.
