Integrated Manufacturing Manager
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Integrated Manufacturing Manager drives category cost optimization and strategic initiatives and owns overall external manufacturing performance management (for current products and new product developments). The role is part of a dynamic team responsible for end-to-end Product Supply performance of the category. The Integrated Manufacturing Manager holds critical working relationships and collaborates closely with senior stakeholders. Externally, the role will own Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) relationships at the plant manager and related function level. You will partner with Procurement, R&D, and PS Functions to ideate cost savings opportunities, develop harmonization strategies, define complexity reduction, and assess make/buy and/or site transfer recommendations to optimize cost and performance. The ambition is to deliver at least 3% year-on-year cost reduction for the product portfolio. The role drives and supports mid- to long-term network strategic initiatives. Also, you will be the primary operating partner for Contract Manufacturing Organizations and responsible for conducting day-to-day operations. The role strategically manages the business relationship and drives supply performance in terms of quality, availability, and delivery. The position effectively collaborates with the Category Supply Lead, General Manager, and Category Team as well as different levels of stakeholders at the Contract Manufacturers to ensure alignment of business objectives. You must excel at influencing stakeholders on all levels and builds strong external relationships. The role requires a strategic mindset, strong influencing skills and a focus on driving innovation, product launches, site transfers, strategic initiatives, cost efficiency, and superior service levels. The role embraces a culture of continuous improvement and value creation and Dynamic Shared Ownership (DSO) principles and practices and follows the VACC approach to leadership. This role is onsite in Whippany, NJ excluding business travel.
The primary responsibilities of this role, Integrated Manufacturing Manager, are to:
Drive Category Cost Optimization and Strategic Initiatives:
Ensure Cost Savings: Ideate cost savings opportunities, lead initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs and increase production capacity. Develop make/buy and/or site transfer recommendations to optimize cost and ensure supply resilience; advance harmonization strategies;
Ensure Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within manufacturing facilities while maintaining product quality and safety standards;
Lead Strategic Initiatives: Drive mid- to long-term strategic initiatives within the category to support pipeline growth, capacity, innovation, and resiliency;
Drive Cross-Category Collaboration: Partner with the category Integrated Manufacturing Leads and other functional / team leaders to address broader business issues, customer needs, and opportunities;
Manage External Manufacturing:
Be Responsible for End-to-End CMO Performance: Optimize supply chain performance / service, costs, right first time, and other CMO KPIs impacting Bayer;
Ensure CMO Relationships: Build and develop relationships with stakeholders on different levels of the CMOs to drive joint value creation;
Be Responsible for Market Analysis: Stay abreast of industry and policy changes and identify implications and opportunities for the category and/or CMO / manufacturing technology;
Be Responsible for Outcomes and KPIs for Category Cost Optimization and Strategic Initiatives:
Cost Savings / Cost of Goods (COGS) Reduction;
Write-offs;
Delivery of key initiatives on time and in budget;
Be Responsible for External Manufacturing:
QA Right First Time;
Validation Right First Time;
Supplier On time In Full;
CMO Performance - Compliance;
Cost Savings Program alignment with CMO;
Lead Time Adherence;
Customer Complaints.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with multi-functional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, External Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Operational Excellence/LEAN;
Proven ability to engage effectively with different levels of the organization and external partners to concisely influence executive leadership;
Track record of organizational and/or performance transformation with proven ability to deliver results transforming into top-tier benchmark performance;
Proven ability to execute category strategies in multi-functional teams;
Experience in planning, forecasting, project management, and external manufacturing related experience within the Consumer Product, Consumer Health, CPG, or OTC industry;
Exceptional skills in solving complex business problems and using analytical techniques;
Excellent project management skills, with experience collaborating in cross-functional teams and working on complex projects;
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making;
Exceptional influencing skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others;
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills;
Demonstrated VACC skills and multi-functional team collaboration;
Passion to drive inclusion, respecting differences, and showing up as authentic best self.
The ability to work onsite in Whippany, NJ, excluding business travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree with multi-functional experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, External Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Operational Excellence/LEAN.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $119,600.00 to $179,400.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
