Description We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys, ensuring the seamless operation of daily legal and administrative tasks. This position is based in Monroe, Connecticut, and offers an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic legal environment.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and draft legal documents, such as complaints and correspondence, with precision and attention to detail.

Manage and organize legal records, maintaining an efficient filing system for easy access.

Coordinate schedules by managing calendars, setting appointments, and arranging meetings for attorneys.

Respond to pleadings and other legal communications promptly and professionally.

Handle court filings and ensure compliance with e-filing procedures.

Answer and direct calls on a multi-line phone system, providing exceptional client service.

Maintain confidentiality and discretion while managing sensitive legal information.

Assist with other administrative and legal tasks as needed to support the team. Requirements - Previous experience as a legal assistant or in a comparable administrative role within a legal setting.

Strong skills in e-filing, court filings, and calendar management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal management software.

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Detail-oriented approach and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to manage sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.
